You must have a current health certificate (issued 7-10 days before you travel) showing that all inoculations are up to date and indicating that your dog is healthy for travel. Your dog should remain in the carrier from the time you enter the departure terminal to the time you leave the destination terminal. Never leave your dog unattended in a zipped up bag. To minimize the possibility of airsickness, do not feed your dog within 6 hours of departure and withhold water within two hours of flight time.
3. When traveling by car, place the carrier in the center of the back seat and pass the safety belt through the carrier’s shoulder straps.
1. Let your dog get to know the carrier well in advance of your travels. Put some of her favorite toys or treats inside followed by your dog, then slowly carry her within your home for a few times, so she becomes comfortable being in the carrier.
2. When traveling by air, check airline policies and regulations regarding carrying pets in the cabin when you make your reservation.
